There is one place that has been a go to for me as far as shopping for Gothic styled clothing is concerned.I am pretty sure that when you realize I am talking about Avid (not like you didn't read the title before hand) that is going to come as no surprise to you. People use Avid and have for a very long time. Their clothing is amazing. The detail is always fantastic, and the creativity is so diverse. There are many great reasons to buy from this great clothing store. In addition to that, the sim design is absolutely incredible so regardless of your interest in Gothic clothes you need to see the SIM itself. Total artistry worth beholding.
What I really want to talk to you about is an experience I had with them that made this company stand out even more in my eyes. When people with stores will argue with you about a pair of socks that weren't delivered to you for a couple Lindens there can be some real nightmares with some fairly large stores. When I had a problem with a gift to Alatrina from Avid not transferring to her I was hoping that I wouldn't be in another of those dreaded situations. It was hard to get in touch with Sarah (darwin.mizser) because it seems she had a real life (Heaven forbid). However she stated that in her profile, so I tried contacting her by sending a notecard to no avail. So, I tried one other thing. When she posted a new product in her group I send an Instant Message immediately after. I got a response back asking what had happened and the outfit.I guess because I have had so many frustrations in this type of situation I was expecting a push back. I didn't get one. She came back and asked me if I'd like her to send me a transferable outfit or if I simply wanted a refund. I loved the outfit on Al so I opted for that. Within seconds it was fixed. It was such a nice experience.
In a place where things can be very difficult at times, it's nice that Sarah and others like her do business like this. Even in Cyberspace in an artificial simulated world the customer was valued. I wanted to take a moment and highlight this for just that reason.
It's funny, before my dealings with Sarah I liked that clothing store for all of it's detail. After that experience I really feel that this business is really worth making a bit of a fuss about.It's so easy to get used to accepting something less than good customer service because that is what you are used to. This isn't something you should have to simply accept in real life or Second Life. We have many outfits from Sarah at Avid and I am certain that there will be many more to come.
